A British local now residing in Kunming China, DJ DSK was introduced to hip-hop and electro music in the early eighties and immediately began dabbling in b-boying, graffiti and djing but soon thereafter focused on the musical aspect, turned to the tables, and set to work perfecting his scratch and battle style techniques. Later he began amassing a funk collection in order to produce hip-hop tracks which soon led to two vinyl releases (Second to None Records and Electrolab Records) and a series of hip-hop and funk mix CDs which received widespread positive attention, in magazines like Hip-Hop Connection and UK Hip-Hop. After a promising DJ and production career start up he left the UK to establish himself in Asia and eventually settled in China, achieving fluency in Mandarin Chinese. Currently working on studio recordings and mixes, he has also become well known across China for his mixing and scratching skills in a variety of music.DJ DSK can be found mixing hip-hop, R&B ,funk, reggae, house, electro or break beat and has been hired for several high profile bboy (break-dance) battles across Asia .He also frequently guest DJs around China and Asia; playing such famous venues as Q Bar and Code Bar (Bangkok), The Lounge (Phnom Phen), Intice (Indonesia), Mix Club/Cutie Club/Babi (Beijing),Yes club (Guangzhou), True Color (ShenZhen), Lux and California (Hongkong).

DJ DSK has also done many interviews for TV and radio shows during his stay in China. When there is any free time he also provides lessons for local DJs learning mixing and scratching techniques.
